Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas’s brother-in-law is recovering in a Tel Aviv hospital after undergoing life-saving heart surgery, Hebrew media reported over the weekend.
The PA leader’s relative, who was not named, turned to the private Assuta Medical Center for the operation. According to reports, the surgery was successful.
Palestinian Authority and Hamas leaders, despite calling for Israel’s destruction, regularly turn to the country’s private health centers for medical care.
Last summer, Amina Abbas, the Palestinian leader’s wife, underwent a leg operation at Assuta in Tel Aviv.
The sister of Hamas senior official Moussa Abu Marzouk was also treated in Israel for cancer.
And, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s mother-in-law, daughter and granddaughter have received medical treatment in Israeli hospitals.
