Israeli iconic swimwear brand Gottex  is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and the local fashion house made a colorful statement during its turn on the runway at this week’s GINDI TLV Fashion Week 2017.

Gottex was established in 1956 by Lea Gottlieb, an immigrant of Hungarian origin, and is now headed by designer Keren Gasner, a Shenkar College of Engineering and Design graduate.

Maskit, the country’s reborn fashion house, also showed off a new collection at the fashion event.

Other Israeli designers taking part in the fifth Tel Aviv Fashion Week (March 12-15, 2017) were the likes of Galia Lahav, Gideon Oberson, Tovale+, Noveau Riche Dog, Gadi Elimelech, Idan Laros, Shai Shalom and Tamara Salem.

Making their debut at TLV Fashion Week were Vivi Bellaish, Keren Wolf, Chana Marelus, Flamingo, Ariel Toledano, Dror Kontento, Elen Lukash and Portay.

“Producing Fashion Week in Tel Aviv for the fifth time is seeing our vision come true to give back the Israeli fashion industry its pride and status,” said Motty Reif, producer of the Fashion Week. “We are very thankful to Gindi Group for being our chief partner throughout the years and together with us for believing in the huge potential which lies within today’s Israeli fashion designers.”

In addition to the main runway, the Fashion Week included a fashion show by students of Shenkar, whose fashion design department has for the second time in a row been ranked in the top 10 in the world by Business of Fashion.
