Fashion Week is set to return to Tel Aviv on March 19, marking the 12th time the catwalk celebrating local talent and creativity takes the city by storm.

The event is set to include 28 fashion shows by a wide array of Israeli designers – some of them international names and others newcomers.

The shows will be accompanied by a new initiative called FAC (Fashion-Agenda-Community), encompassing panel discussions on issues such as sustainable technology, female entrepreneurship, child sexual abuse and health topics including premenstrual syndrome, psoriasis and menopause.

The event is being sponsored by Kornit Digital, an Israeli company specializing in sustainable, on-demand digital fashion and textile production technologies, and produced by industry veteran Motty Reif.

Among the designers to be showcased are the famous bridal dress and eveningwear designer Alon Livne; Israel’s first fashion house, Maskit; and Beyonce’s personal favorite, Shahar Avnet. Upcoming designers include Stav Ofman, whose creations are regularly worn by Israeli superstar and Eurovision contender Noa Kirel; and Elizabeth Brown and her brand MonaLizabeth.

A lifetime achievement award is to be presented to designer Hagar Alembik for her 35 years in Israel’s fashion industry.

“We’re honored to lead Tel Aviv Fashion Week in partnership with Motty Reif,” says Kornit Digital CEO Ronen Samuel. “Kornit Fashion Week is an essential platform for promoting values of inclusivity, diversity, and freedom of expression, while working with groundbreaking designers to create inspiring and exciting collections.”

“In these historic times, when the Israeli reality is more challenging than ever, it is important that we demonstrate our togetherness, our modern culture, the pride of our local creativity, what unites us, our optimism and friendship,” added Reif.

“This year, Fashion Week continues to celebrate the veteran fashion designers alongside young and new designers, with an emphasis on the values of sustainability, diversity and acceptance of differences, this time within the framework of FAC, a new and unique venture, aimed at creating discourse and promoting awareness on important social issues that can affect the lives of each of us individually, and of all of us together as a society.”
