The popular TEDx lecture series will return to Tel Aviv for the second time on March 21, presenting a lineup of speakers that includes Israeli leaders in film, technology, music and health.
Among the featured speakers at TEDxTelAviv this year are “Star Wars” producer Ram Bergman; Prof. Dedi Meiri, head of the world’s leading cannabis lab at the Technion; Israel’s first female Chief Scientist Orna Berry; internationally acclaimed composer and pianist Orit Wolf; global healthcare innovator Prof. Ran Balicer; Ziv Shilon, platoon leader of the IDF’s Givati brigade; Israel’s “King of Musicals” Yaron Kafkafi; and singer Dikla.
Senior journalist and former CEO of Channel 10 News Gilad Adin will host the event at Habima’s Charles Bronfman Auditorium. The program is also set to feature performances by Dikla and Pyromania, an Israeli creative production team whose performances combine high-tech video art, dancers, artists and musicians.
TEDx programs, including TEDxTelAviv, are independent, self-organized events designed to spread ideas and share TED-like experiences in local communities. Since the program began in 2009, there have been more than 100,000 TEDx talks in more than 190 countries.
Surprised by the fact that his school didn’t have a formal TEDx event, former Tel Aviv University student Yadin Soffer founded TEDxTelAviv to bring the popular program to Israel.
