Trained first-responders from more than two dozen countries come to Israel for six-week to five-month periods every year as volunteers with Magen David Adom (MADA), Israel’s national emergency response organization.

“This is remarkable, fantastic and heartwarming,” says Yonatan Yogodovsky, MADA director of fundraising development.

“The main thing they focus on is being able to do CPR with equipment,” says one young volunteer from Australia. They also handle everything from burns and bandaging, and above all they learn more about Israelis and make friends for life.
