Gal Gadot is to become the first Israeli actor to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Gadot, who wowed the world with her performance as “Wonder Woman,” is one of 31 people who will be honored at the historic Los Angeles landmark next year with a star bearing her name, it was announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

In a video on Instagram, Gadot told her 105 million followers that she heard about the news from her husband, who had been contacted by the Israeli press.

“I’m so, so grateful and thankful and humbled to Hollywood’s Chamber of Commerce for choosing me,” she said, adding that the news gives her fuel to “continue doing what I love.”

Gadot, 38, shot to stardom first as Gisele, an ex-Mossad agent in the “Fast and Furious” films, and then as Wonder Woman in the DC universe.

It is unclear, however, whether she will play this role again, after news in December last year that the third film in the series will be canceled.

In a tweet, Israeli President Isaac Herzog said: “You were always a star.”

Others who will receive a star alongside Gadot are Chris Pine – her co-star in “Wonder Woman” – along with Christina Ricci, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michelle Yeoh, Kerry Washington and the late Chadwick Boseman, musicians Gwen Stefani and Otis Redding, as well as former tennis player Billie Jean King.

To date there are 2,789 golden stars on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles.

In 2021, Gadot starred in the film “Red Notice” alongside Ryan Reynolds. It is considered the highest-budget film in Netflix history.

She is also producing and starring in the title role of a series about Egyptian queen Cleopatra, and is starring in the spy thriller “Heart of Stone,” to be released on Netflix in August.
