Want to join the generative AI revolution but not quite sure how to do it? You can now easily use advanced models of generative artificial intelligence on your phone, courtesy of a far simpler-to-use messaging app.

Israeli-founded company Rakuten Viber has recently added an AI Chat & Create chatbot to its traditional messaging app, giving users access to OpenAI technologies such as DALL-E and Davinci on their phones.

“Right now, the chatbot offers two options – one for images and one for text – and we’re looking continuously to expand the offering in the near future,” explains Rakuten Viber CEO Ofir Eyal.

Founded as Viber Media in Tel Aviv in 2010, the company was acquired by Japanese technology conglomerate Rakuten in 2014. It has offices in Israel and is headquartered in Luxembourg.

“Excitement about generative AI technology currently has the tech industry’s attention and every day more and more people are exposed to the wonders that can be achieved with this technology,” Eyal adds.

“However, access to some of these tools is not very simple for everyone, and now we are offering the easiest way to try out various AI services in the comfort of a Viber chat, inside the app, without the need to register to a special service or further hassle and completely free.”
