On March 15, four red double-decker tour buses rolled out in the streets of Jerusalem offering narrated sightseeing tours in a choice of 29 languages.

The Red Bus City Tour takes passengers on a 90-minute route to landmarks such as the Old City, Mount of Olives and Mount Scopus, with a stop for a photo-op.

A hop-on-hop-off option encompasses a 2.5-hour loop around significant places including City Hall, Sacher Park, the Knesset, Israel Museum, Yad Vashem, National Library, Machane Yehuda Market and Mount Herzl.

Both tours begin next to the US Consulate on Agron Street near the Waldorf Astoria.

Tickets for the regular tour cost 75 shekels for adults, and 30 for children and seniors, or 170 shekels for two adults and two children. Hop-on-hop-off tickets, which are good for 24, 48 or 72 hours, start at 70 shekels and go up to 330 for a four-person family.

Tickets are available at the Red Bus City Tours office at 22 Agron Street or online. In the very near future, tickets also will be sold at hotels, tourist sites and from attendants at central points on the tour stops.
