The first Friday of July is here and that means it’s time to get wet! Grab your best water pistol or a bucket and head over to Rabin Square in Tel Aviv on July 5 for the annual Water War TLV event.

Organizers say this year’s great splash will draw some 5,000 participants.

Talk of a water crisis in Israel takes a backseat once a year as people from across the country descend on the public square for an afternoon of splashing.

The water party officially kicks off at 15:15 and there’s even a group countdown.

The event is organized independently (not city sponsored).
