The day after a storm dumped hailstones, heavy rain and snow on Israel, the citizens of Tel Aviv were out in force to see how their city had fared through the wintery weather.

At the Port in Tel Aviv on Saturday, thousands of visitors watched huge waves hitting the shore, the color of the waves turned to brown as sand was churned up in the roiling sea.

During the storm, roads across the country were flooded and highways leading into Jerusalem were closed as the storm dumped 25 centimeters of snow on the capital.
