Most smartphone owners have tons of photos stored on their device that would look really nice displayed on their actual walls.

Sure, you can order printed photo products from many different websites, but Israeli entrepreneurs David Katz and Eytan Levit found a way to make the process super simple.

With Mixtiles, you don’t have to transfer images from your phone. The app walks you through ordering — directly from the device – self-sticking wall tiles of your favorite photos.

For now, Mixtiles is available only to customers in the United States.

“You pick and order photos; we produce them, box them and send them to you. You just stick them to the wall,” Katz tells ISRAEL21c.

Each tile has four removable sticky pads so that you can hang and even remove and reposition the picture without hammering nails in the wall.

Before Mixtiles launched officially about a year and a half ago, its bootstrapped crew of four in Tel Aviv put a lot of effort into app dev and building server-side systems before tackling manufacturing and customer-service challenges.

Katz seems pleased with the result.

“Mixtiles turns your photos into beautiful wall tiles. We want your memories to live longer, make your place beautiful and give it character,” he says.
