British supermodel Naomi Campbell chose to celebrate her 42nd birthday with a trip to Israel, and she wished for “good vibrations, not destruction” in the Middle East.
Flanked by security guards, Campbell’s entourage — her longtime boyfriend, Russian billionaire Vladislav Doronin, and 15 close friends — toured around Bethlehem and lit candles in the Church of the Nativity. They also visited the Western Wall and the Western Wall Tunnels in Jerusalem’s Old City.
Campbell is one of the most iconic supermodels in the international fashion world. She made her debut at the age of 15 and was the first black Vogue Paris cover model. Since then she has graced the covers of countless fashion magazines around the world.
“As much traveling as I’ve done, I’ve never come here,” Campbell told a Palestinian television station. The supermodel also said she hoped for peace. “I’m happy to be here. Weapons and war, greed and oil … I hope it all stops. I care about health, about good vibrations, not destruction.”
