Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has marked his busy calendar with a November visit to Israel – shortly after the launch of the new Windows 8 operating system.
Ballmer is set to attend events organized by Microsoft Israel and its local development center in Israel, reported the Israeli business daily, Globes.
He is also scheduled to meet with entrepreneurs, developers and leaders of Israel’s economy.
In the past, Ballmer has said that Israel is “an excellent example of the outstanding innovation.”
In addition to its R&D presence in Israel, Microsoft has purchased nine blue-and-white companies.
“If you do the math, Microsoft is almost as much an Israeli company as it is an American company,” Ballmer said on a visit here in 2008 for the inauguration of the R&D center in Herzliya.
