Lumenis procedure for Pearly Penile Papule performed live on US TV Lumenis a Yokneam-based developer, manufacturer and seller of laser, light-based and radio-frequency devices for surgical, aesthetic, and ophthalmic applications, had its UltraPulse CO2 laser featured this week on US TV show “The Doctors”. The show highlights on-set medical procedures and is produced by the same team behind the “Dr. Phil” show. The live procedure was performed by dermatologist Dr.
William Groff of La Jolla, California, who used the Lumenis CO2 laser to painlessly and permanently remove Pearly Penile Papules (PPP), a condition in which small skin tags or domes form on the penis. PPP is not a sexually transmitted disease, is not contagious and affects approximately 25% of men. “While PPP is not a harmful condition, many men suffer embarrassment and humiliation in silence,” said Dr. Groff. “It is important for men to know that there is a safe, easy and effective solution.” Lumenis is Israel’s largest medical device company with more than 800 employees worldwide, over 250 patents worldwide, 75-plus FDA clearances, a presence in over 100 countries, and an installed base of over 70,000 systems.
