Israeli sports-tech company WSC Sports won an “AI-ML Curation of Sports Highlights” award at the 74th Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards.

Based in the Tel Aviv suburb of Givatayim, WSC Sports developed an AI-powered platform that enables sports media rights holders to generate and distribute customized video highlights automatically and in real-time.

Content teams from the NBA, ESPN, NHL, DAZN and more than 300 others utilize the WSC Sports platform to automatically generate customized video for every platform, catering to fans seeking more content with greater personalization on a variety of platforms as close to real time as possible.

The Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards are presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for developments in engineering technologies that either represent so extensive an improvement on existing methods or are so innovative in nature that they have affected television significantly.

“We’re proud to be recognized for such a prestigious award,” said Daniel Shichman, WSC Sports CEO and cofounder. “Being honored with a Tech Emmy is recognition of the highest order and proof that we are making a positive impact in the way the biggest sports properties generate content and ultimately deliver a much better viewing experience for sports fans around the world.”

The other companies that won in the same category are multinational giants IBM, Comcast and Google.

WSC Sports was a shortlisted finalist at the 2022 Sports Emmy Awards in the category Outstanding Digital Innovation in recognition of its collaboration with the PGA Tour during the Players Championship in 2021.
