Showtime’s Homeland was named Best Drama Series at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles – an award the Israeli television industry can take pride in.
Homeland is the American version of the Israeli hit series, Hatufim.
Homeland won two of its three awards – also picking up Best TV Drama Actress for Claire Danes. Danes thanked the show’s writing team for giving her such an “exquisite and divine” character to play.
The Golden Globes are often seen as a precursor to the Oscars with many of the ceremony’s winners becoming key contenders at the Academy Awards event.
