Next time you rent a car in Israel, there’s no need to make sure the gas tank is full. That’s because the Eldan Car Rental Company has added electric vehicles to its fleet.

Eldan will now offer clients the Renault Fluence ZE at a starting rate of $67 per day.

Israel’s largest car rental company signed an agreement with Better Place electric vehicle company in 2011. The first rental cars are now hitting the road.

Eldan also said it will offer long-term rental and leasing options for persons interested in electric vehicles with different payment options. This is the first car rental company in the world offering an electric vehicle.

And at the end of the day, when you return the vehicle, you don’t need to worry about a fully charged battery – Eldan can plug the car in for you.
