The Jerusalem and Tel Aviv marathons may have attracted thousands of runners but how many of them glowed in the dark? Beersheva runners will light up the streets of this southern city on May 2 as they take part in Israel’s first-ever Glow Run.

The Glow Run is a global nighttime fun-run. The event has been held in North America, Australia and now in Israel. Thousands of costumed participants – decked out in glow in the dark accessories – take to the streets for a 5K or 10K route.

According to organizers, thousands are expected to take part in this illuminating event – including international runners.
Organizers say it’s less about winning and more about having fun.

Of course, as with other events of this nature, the route will merge into a big party happening with dancing, music, and food.
