LGBT Pride Month in Israel is normally characterized by a host of massive street parties, the biggest and most extravagant of which is the Tel Aviv Pride Parade that takes place in the second week of June.

Over the past few years, this month has also been characterized by having its own, official anthem. At first, the process of choosing the song was arbitrary, with whatever song claimed the national airwaves. Recently, however, Israeli artists have been releasing singles intentionally aimed to capture the attention of those celebrating Pride Month.

Noa Kirel, who this year was too busy preparing for her Eurovision performance, released songs in 2021 and 2022, both of which became massive hits and timeless Pride Month anthems.

The Tel Aviv municipality has for the past couple of years also been recruiting local pop stars to record Pride Month songs. Not to mention 1998 Eurovision winner Dana International, who came out as transgender at age 13 and has been writing songs empowering the LGBT community for decades.

There is no shortage of Israeli music to listen to if you’re heading to a Pride Parade. Here is ISRAEL21c’s Spotify playlist of hits that captivated Israelis during Pride Months of years past.
