India’s Aam Aadmi Party government has turned to Israeli company Ayala Water & Ecology to clean an eight kilometer of one of the most polluting drains that empties into the highly-polluted Yamuna river.

Ayala Water & Ecology are sustainability experts with 26 years of experience in the field of phytoremediation. They developed the “Natural Biological System, a sustainable natural technology for treating sewage and waste streams, rehabilitating affected water bodies and rebalancing watersheds.”

The Zipori-based company uses shrubs and constructed wetlands to destroy contaminants in a natural way.

Ayala is already working on three other projects in India: Ganga rejuvenation in Rishikesh, and on two lakes in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Ayala’s phytoremediation systems are built into the landscaping at hundreds of industrial, residential, agricultural and recreational sites in Israel, India, Chile, Mexico, France, Germany, Greece, Singapore, the United States and Canada, the Philippines, India and the United Kingdom.
