As a photojournalist, Mario Troiani is no stranger to conflict zones. A recent transplant to Tel Aviv, he has captured the city in days of relative calm and of raucous celebration which he shares on his Facebook page, Italian in Tel Aviv.

At this troubled time, Troiani offers a brief respite from the madness surrounding us by posting images of the small pockets of tranquility that are still to be found, like this white hibiscus facing the summer sun in one of the many gardens that dot the White City…
