ISRAEL21c is improving ways to hear about Israel’s contributions to the world. We at ISRAEL21c welcome the new calendar year with a renewed commitment and with expanded resources to carry out our mission of revealing another side of Israel that is too often missing from international and national media coverage. Our excitement is evident in the new features and enhanced design you will find on the pages of our web site.

On the technical side, we’ve expanded the depth of our offerings by allowing you to more easily access the full range of our content. The navigation bar at the top of the home page leads to “channel” pages on the major categories of health, technology and global democracy. These pages catalog stories and opinion pieces for each subject area and provide links to other sites that add texture to the picture of Israel. In addition, we will be keeping past content on the site for a longer period of time. Soon we will be adding a search function to our site that will allow readers to find articles of interest with a simple keyword.

Beyond the technical changes, ISRAEL21c plans to seek out additional – and improved – reporting about Israeli developments in health and related fields, technology, and the advancement of democratic institutions. We are all-too aware that Israel’s successes are not widely known to American audiences, and we are encouraged by the feedback from our readers who tell us that they are impressed by the successes that Israelis from all walks of life – scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and researchers – are having in contributing to human knowledge and to fostering communication and understanding.

We also see Israel leading the way in proposing democratically derived solutions to world problems that acknowledge the voices of people from all levels of societies and nations. We will continue to chronicle the efforts of Israelis to bridge economic, linguistic and social barriers in order to better the lives of Israelis as well as people around the world.

We have developed close partnerships with some of Israel’s leading institutions, like the American Technion Society, Soroka Medical Center of the Negev, Ben Gurion University, the Weizmann Institute of Science, the New Israel Fund and others, and with their help we will continue to bring you compelling news and fresh perspectives on the Israel of the 21st century – beyond the conflict.
