Teenage skier Noa Szollos won Israel’s first-ever medals in the Winter Youth Olympic Games, bringing home a silver and a bronze from the event earlier this month in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Noa, soon turning 17, placed third in the Super G run on January 10, and second in the Alpine Combined on January 11. She’d also finished second in the Slalom in the National Junior Race held on January 5.

Noa was born in Hungary and is a top competitive skier along with her brothers Barnabas and Benjamin.

“I hope I made everyone proud at home,” she said.

Israel previously won eight medals in Summer Youth Olympic Games — in swimming, athletics, sailing, taekwondo and acrobatic gymnastics.
