Tourists generally come to Israel for the culture, the food, the beaches, the weather and the fascinating history that stretches back to biblical times. A new sector of tourists is also coming for something else – the gay scene.

Israel is considered one of the most gay friendly countries in the world, while Tel Aviv has been hailed as the best gay city in the world.

In our latest installment of ISRAEL21c on TLV1 radio, and just a few days before Tel Aviv’s famous Gay Pride event – which this year is expected to attract 120,000 participants – journalist Viva Sarah Press talks to Mira Marcus, the international press director at Tel Aviv Municipality and travel consultant Russell Lord about the emerging gay travel market in Israel.
