Fans of lemonade, lemon pie and lemon cakes can breathe a sigh of relief. An Israeli grower from a moshav farming community in the south of the country has developed a successful solution to prevent deadly fungi from killing lemon groves.

Lemon farmers from around the world are constantly on guard against the malesco disease, a fungus which attacks and dries out the tree. The fungus, which spreads from the roots to the branches, is very infectious and moves from tree to tree, until the entire grove is wiped out.

NUFAR Natural Products, a Galilee-based company that creates alternative health products, has announced that it will market the new preventative solution.
