Niran Avisar may not be a household name just yet, but after his magnificent win at the International Talent Support ‘ITS#Ten’ contest in Italy earlier this month it’s a name the fashion world will hear again.

Avisar, a student at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Ramat Gan, was given the 2011 Diesel Award for his modern interpretation of the traditional dandy.

The ITS contest is a platform which gives visibility to young talent from across the globe, providing an opportunity to have their work shown to industry experts.
In his collection, Avisar used deer leather and knits combined with woven wool. His collection was inspired by painter Egon Schiele.

Avisar won a cash prize of € 25,000 and a six-month internship with the Diesel creative team at the company’s headquarters in Italy.

Previous finalists have gone on to work for top fashion houses, and Avisar’s future looks to be following that path.

Renzo Rosso, President of Diesel told journalists at the Italian event: “The person who comes to work for us is given all our knowledge and with this education, many more companies will open their doors to them.”
