A new attraction has opened at the Underwater Observatory Marine Park in Eilat allowing visitors a close encounter with the most deadly predator in the oceans – the shark.

Shark World, which cost NIS 26 million to build, is the largest shark pool in the Middle East covering the area of a kilometer, and including an underwater observation tunnel, activities and displays.

The pool houses 18 sharks from the Red Sea, walruses, seat bats and thousands of fish.

In the photograph, by Hadas Parush/Flash90, visitors watch as a diver prepares to feed the sharks.

If you’ve got a photograph you’d like to feature on ISRAEL21c please send it in high resolution to info@israel21c.org. Every week we will choose the best one to feature on our pages.
