As Passover begins tomorrow, it’s an opportunity for all of us to think about one of the most enduring stories in Jewish history – the journey of the ancient Israelites from hardship and slavery in Egypt to freedom. It’s a story of resilience, courage, and the belief that change is possible. This year that message feels especially relevant. Israel is facing one of its most complex and difficult chapters ever – with the ongoing war, hostages still held in terrible conditions in Gaza, a deep national rift over the judicial overhaul tearing the country apart, and many people still suffering from the consequences of October 7. It’s a time of serious challenge, but it’s also a time of extraordinary human spirit. Even in the midst of this adversity, we continue to see remarkable stories of unity, innovation, and compassion. From volunteers supporting people in need, to tech companies building tools that will improve our lives and health, to grassroots movements bridging divides – Israelis are showing the world what it means to keep moving forward, together, even at the worst of times. The Passover story is ultimately about hope. And today, hope is the only choice. It’s the choice to focus on the good, to aim towards better days, and to celebrate the people working tirelessly to bring them about. At ISRAEL21c, we continue to be inspired by the light, even in dark times. And we’re proud to share the stories that prove it. So this Passover, to all who celebrate, we wish you light, we wish you strength, and we wish you hope.
