It’s probably every emergency responder’s dream. Their dream, and even more so the person who is experiencing a heart attack or has been in a crash. A new AI system developed by the IDF’s 8200 unit and United Hatzalah, can predict within 10 minute intervals where and when a medical emergency is about to take place across Israel. With this knowledge, paramedics can mobilize resources to the scene BEFORE the emergency call is made, arriving faster than ever before. The system, which uses 18 years of data, has already been in use for three months and has an 85 percent accuracy rate. It’s a breakthrough that is likely to drastically change emergency response, not only in Israel but all over the world. Read about it below. It sounds like science fiction. Nicky Blackburn |
