There aren’t many countries with underground hospitals around the world. In fact, Wikipedia lists only Sweden, Syria and Israel in this select club. Of these few countries, however, Israel has by far the most with 10 hospitals across the country, having invested heavily in subterranean spaces to ensure safe, consistent patient care no matter what. It’s both a sad reminder of the neighborhood we live in with its risk of significant war, and a testament to how Israel will do as much as it can to protect its population, investing billions underground to save lives.
