Humans are filled with all kinds of things; like courage, compassion, and a sloshing selection of biles, juices and fluids. As it turns out, that last one may just hold the secrets to better overall health, if we know how to look at it properly. That’s the idea behind liquid biopsy, a pioneering medical technique that checks out different bodily fluids like blood, urine and discharge for specific biomarkers linked to various diseases — chief among them being cancer. Experts believe that analyzing the body’s fluids may even be more effective than a standard tumor biopsy, because they flow throughout the body and touch more areas — picking up little signs of potential sickness as they move along. It’s basically like hiring a tour guide to tell you about the vibe of a city rather than the doorman of a local hotel, if that makes sense. If it doesn’t, you’re in luck, because I wrote an article all about it. Check it out! Zachy Hennessey |
