They look like aliens, but the Voca People – an ensemble of a cappella and beatbox specialists that sounds like an entire orchestra – has become an international success since “landing” in Tel Aviv. The performance group has two permanent troupes in Israel, one in Europe and a new one in New York City.

Co-creator and director Lior Kalfo says each one of the Voca People has a specific sound that represents him or her. Clothed in white from head to toe, they sing in English but playfully speak only “Vocish,” that sound-specific, alien-like language.

The Voca People show is a mix of music and humor that’s suited to all ages and cultures.
