The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company plans to open a hotel on Tel Aviv’s Rothschild Boulevard, becoming the latest in a number of hotel chains to show interest in the famous city-center street.
Ritz-Carlton signed a $50 million deal with Tidhar, and Migdal Insurance and Financial Holdings to buy a block of buildings at 10 Rothschild Boulevard.
The buildings stand on five lots at the southern end of the boulevard, and are currently occupied by buildings slated for preservation. Ritz-Carlton will renovate these buildings and also build a 28-storey high rise for residential and hotel use.
Adi’s Investments will also join the deal. Last year, Tidhar and Adi’s announced that they plan to build a Ritz Carlton hotel at a cost of NIS 600 million at the Herzliya Marina.
Aviv & Co. has also applied for permission to build a hotel at 22 Rothschild Boulevard after receiving permission from the Tel Aviv Planning and Building Commission to increase the number of floors for the company’s planned Aviv Rothschild Center tower to 29 floors.
MTM – Mivnei Taasia and Mlacha and Building Resources are also planning to develop a 50-room boutique hotel at the corner of 75 Rothschild Boulevard and Mazeh Street. The hotel will be built beneath the office building at the site.
