Yom Kippur in Tel Aviv

A day of fasting and atonement for many, Yom Kippur is also a day when the nation’s children reclaim the country’s usually busy streets.

As traffic grinds to a standstill for the 25-hour fast day, people take to the streets on rollerblades, scooters, and bicycles.

In the picture, children ride their bikes freely on what is usually one of the city’s busiest arteries, taking them right past the Azrieli Center. Photo by Flash90.
