Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson is now the official global ambassador for SodaStream International, the Israeli-made manufacturer and distributor of home beverage carbonation systems. Johansson’s first commercial for SodaStream will premiere at the Super Bowl on February 2, 2014.

Daniel Birnbaum, CEO of SodaStream, announced in a press release that Johansson was the perfect brand ambassador because she “is a long-time user and genuine fan of our products, a role model for healthy body image and a champion for environmental responsibility.”

Indeed, in a behind-the-scenes taping of the much hyped advertisement, the Hollywood A-lister says, “it’s a product that I stand by and I use and I believe in.”

It turns out the actress has loved sparkling water since childhood and that naturally led her to discover SodaStream.

“I’ve been using the SodaStream products myself and giving them as gifts for many, many years,” said Johansson. “The company’s commitment to a healthier body and a healthier planet is a perfect fit for me. I love that the product can be tailored to any lifestyle and palate. The partnership between me and SodaStream is a no brainer. I am beyond thrilled to share my enthusiasm for SodaStream with the world!!”

SodaStream is the world’s leader in do-it-yourself carbonated beverages. The company offers over 100 flavors. Johansson says her favorites so far are the Dr. Pete (similar to Dr. Pepper), Ginger Ale and orange. In the Super Bowl commercial she is drinking grapefruit flavor.
