The web video, Contacts, will represent Israel at this year’s 5th Hong Kong International Mobile Film Awards (HKIMFA), to be held on March 26. The short film by Nir Berger and Yogev Yefet won the Made for Web 2.0 competition in Tel Aviv recently.

The local competition was organized jointly by the Israeli Association of Television and Film Producers in collaboration with YouTube and the Israeli Ministry of Economy.

“The partners in this initiative are proud to have this opportunity to increase international exposure for Israeli films. All the finalists were great but only one was chosen by the international jury to represent us at the finals. Contacts is a wonderful film and we wish it much success in Hong Kong,” said Jonathan Levy, Director of Digital Media at the Investment Promotion Center of the Israeli Ministry of Economy.

In addition to Israel, countries competing for the international award include China, Brazil, Canada, France, Greece, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan.
