The celebrated Israel Festival is just around the corner and the list of international guests set to appear is impressive.
One of the hottest tickets of the festival is a concert by legendary soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. The New Zealand opera singer enjoys worldwide celebrity status.
Dance fans, meanwhile, are being offered a chance to see the legendary Merce Cunningham modern dance company before it disbands forever on December 31.
>In addition to top foreign acts, the Israel Festival will celebrate its 50th anniversary with 12 local premieres. The happening will take place May 23 – June 18.
Among the Israeli debuts set for the festival is ‘Observation Point’, by the Clipa visual arts theater troupe. Choreographer Ohad Naharin is also set to stage a new work with the Batsheva Dance Company.
The Israel Festival bill includes classical music, theater, visual arts and dance. There’s something for everyone.
