International men’s lifestyle magazine GQ chose Israeli actress Gal Gadot as its 2017 Wonder Woman of the Year and for its 22nd annual Men of the Year issue.

“When real-life wonder woman Gal Gadot smashed up the big screen in this summer’s blockbuster hit Wonder Woman, we knew superhero movies would never be the same,” the editors write.

GQ writer Caity Weaver came to Tel Aviv to spend a day at the beach with the Wonder Woman star, former Israeli soldier, Miss Israel and mother of two.

Her profile of Gadot reveals a relaxed but alert, self-assured, warm and attentive personality who shows up for the interview with an egg sandwich and a towel from home for the reporter.

“The most beautiful thing about Gal Gadot is her smile—a real one, devastating, whipped out frequently to the peril of those around her—but the other stuff is very good, too,” Weaver writes.

Gadot shares the GQ honors this year with Kevin Durant, Stephen Colbert and Colin Kaepernick.
