The 27-year-old son of Depeche Mode’s lead singer chose Caesarea as the place to hold his wedding on Sunday (March 22, 2015). Jack Gahan married Sigal Memis (originally Memistevlov), of Nahariya, under the chuppah to the cheers of 200 guests.
The two newlyweds met in 2009 when Dave Gahan came with Depeche Mode on tour to Tel Aviv. Jack, who joined the tour, met Sigal at a Tel Aviv nightclub where the band went to hang out post concert, according to a report in YNet News.
The couple lives in London but returned to Israel for the nuptials.
This was the third visit to Israel for the lead singer of the British electronic band and the first private stopover. Depeche Mode rocked Ramat Gan Stadium in 2009 and Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park in 2013.
According to reports, the Gahans had a traditional Friday night dinner with Sigal’s family in Nahariya before returning to their Herzliya hotel. Jack’s mother was also in Israel and hopped over to Jerusalem for a tour.
