Every year, hundreds of Ethiopian Jews in Israel join together to take part in a mass prayer to celebrate the holiday of Sigd.

The prayer, which this year took place at the Armon Hanatziv Promenade in Jerusalem on Tuesday, celebrates the community’s connection and commitment to Israel.

Around 80,000 Ethiopian Jews live in Israel, many of whom were brought over to Israel in daring airlifts in 1984 and 1991.
