We are now over a year into the Covid-19 pandemic, and let’s face it, we have run out of things to watch. That’s why we did the work for you.

Below, we have outlined some of our favorite entertainment that kept us busy while in quarantine. Featured are some newly released Israeli television series and movies (including a new Israeli-content streaming service) that will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more.

1.Baker and the Beauty

Noa Holander is a model, actress, one of Israel’s most well-known women, and half of a Hollywood power couple. That is, until now… Amos Dahari is a pita baker working at his family business and living with his parents. As Amos celebrates the ninth anniversary with his girlfriend, Vanessa, at a restaurant, he bumps into Noa. Amos and Noa are both caught off guard, and immediate sparks fly, leaving Vanessa in utter disbelief. Will they be able to put their vastly different lifestyles behind for each other?

This romantic comedy is sure to keep you glued to your screen as it navigates fame, family, exes and more. Seasons 1 and 2 are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Season 3 has wrapped and is set to air soon!

2.Shtisel

Shtisel is a story about the lives of an ultra-Orthodox (haredi) family living in Jerusalem. The patriarch of the family, Shulem Shtisel, is the head of a local boys’ school, and is eager to find his son, Akiva, a wife. Akiva struggles to find the right match and is eager to pursue a career as an artist; something that his father and other community members have a hard time understanding. However, Akiva is not ready to give up on his dreams. Meanwhile, Shulem’s daughter, Giti Weiss, learns that her husband has been unfaithful to her.

Between the strict rules of the community, and the complex lives of the Shtisels, this drama is definitely binge worthy. All three seasons are now available on Netflix!

3.Tehran

This fast paced show is about a Mossad agent, Tamar, who is sent to Tehran to hack the controls for Iran’s anti-aircraft missiles in preparation for a secret op to destroy the Iranian nuclear reactors. Tamar finds herself stuck in Tehran with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard hot on her trail. New relationships are formed, and old ones are tested. All those who enjoy high-stakes intense dramas will love this show. A second season is in the works currently. Stream Tehran now on Apple TV!

4.The Spy

This television series stars Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat) and is based on the true story of Israeli spy Eli Cohen, who recovered vital intelligence for Israel before the Six Day War and saved many lives. The Spy is a unique look at this legendary agent who was sent to Argentina, then Syria, and eventually rose to the rank of a Syrian government defense official. The show is full of risk and suspense. Check out The Spy on Netflix!

5.The Red Sea Diving Resort

Based on real events, The Red Sea Diving Resort is an action-packed movie about the successful efforts to bring Ethiopian Jews to Israel from Sudan secretly. Mossad agents open a diving resort along Sudan’s coast as a cover for their real activities — helping Jewish Ethiopians reach safety in Israel. At the same time, the Israelis are preventing Sudanese government officials and resort staff from catching on to their activities. It was directed and written by Gideon Raff, who also is behind the Israeli television show Prisoners of War, the forerunner to renowned show Homeland. Watch The Red Sea Diving Resort on Netflix!
