Thai Princess Chulabhorn is back in Israel, this time to promote scientific cooperation with her country. The princess will visit the Rambam Medical Center, with which Thai institutes are collaborating on cancer research, as well as the Weizmann Institute of Science.

This is 53-year-old Chulabhorn’s second visit to Israel.

Chulabhorn, the youngest daughter of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej, is a doctor of chemistry, and heads her namesake Chulabhorn Research Institute in Bangkok.

She is the first Asian to be a fellow in the UK’s Royal Society of Chemistry. Furthermore, UNESCO awarded her with the Einstein Medal for her promotion of international scientific cooperation.

The princess will spend one week touring Israel, with an entourage of 25 people. She is expected to meet President Shimon Peres.
