Gaming in Israel is a booming industry and the world’s gaming experts want to connect to it. The international Casual Games Association (CGA) has chosen Tel Aviv to host its latest Casual Connect event, one of the biggest gaming conferences in the world.

The inaugural Casual Connect Tel Aviv 2015 set to take place on October 19-21, will focus on new media, mid-core games, social games and investment opportunities. Israeli company Playtika is partnering with the CGA international trade organization on the event.

“We’ve been following the Israeli Gaming industry for a while and there is no doubt that Israel has become a global powerhouse in the category,” said Casual Games Association managing director Jessica Tams.

Organizers expect over 1,500 executives and experts from the gaming and social games industry to take part in the happening. Casual Connect Tel Aviv is also expected to attract over 700 companies from 30 countries. Event organizers say some 100 speakers will hold lectures and workshops on game design, casino, funding, next-generation technology and best practices.

CGA said it will add Tel Aviv to its yearly roster of global events together with San Francisco, Singapore, and Amsterdam.

The digital gaming sector worldwide is a multibillion dollar market. In 2014, Israeli gaming companies chalked up $300 million in funding and acquisitions.
