Over 1,000 visitors from 42 countries are expected to attend this year’s ILSI-BioMed international conference in Tel Aviv, from May 21-23.

Thousands of top Israeli and international business executives, decision makers, and leading researchers, will participate in the annual expo that is known for highlighting the BioMed industry’s latest innovations and technologies.

Israel tops the list of countries in medical device patents per capita and is fourth worldwide for biotechnology patents per capita. Moreover, Israel is home to more than 1,000 life science companies, with 50-60 new companies established every year.

“The ILSI conference is the annual showcase of the Israeli Bio sector, which has one of the world’s very highest rates of patent filings and start-ups. This vibrant industry is a model of creativity, productivity and efficiency, and is attracting more foreign attendees who want to learn from its successes,” said Dr. Ronald Ellis of NasVax.

Considered the biggest life sciences conference outside the US, this year’s ILSI Biomed conference will feature 60 presentations given by Israeli medical device and biopharma companies; keynote addresses by prominent industry figures from Israel and abroad; panels covering all the major topics and issues currently affecting the economic and regulatory landscape; and a start-up pavilion focusing on innovation.

Last year’s event drew 6,000 industry players, engineers and scientists. Organizers hope the upcoming exposition will top that.
