The Tel Aviv Municipality has allocated space at the City Library for young Israeli innovators to meet and share their ideas for new businesses.
Avner Warner, director of economic affairs at the municipality, describes Tel Aviv as a citywide incubator ecosystem of entrepreneurs, mentors and investors.
“There’s an entrepreneurial culture in Tel Aviv,” says Warner.
Warner says there are some 600 start-ups in the city of less than 400,000 residents. He highlights the laidback atmosphere as the key to success in this city by the sea.
“There’s no hierarchy here. It’s easy for young entrepreneurs to have access to senior people in business,” he says. “Dress casual, act casual, share your information and get advice from people. That is so important in a true entrepreneurial society, that flow of information.”
