Video synopsis company BriefCam wins innovation award

Israeli video synopsis solutions company BriefCam was awarded first prize for physical security and named Technology Company of the Year in the HLS Technology Innovation Competition at the 2nd International Conference for Homeland Security in Tel Aviv.
The competition was sponsored by the Israel Export Institute, The Office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, and MATIMOP – the Israeli Industry Center for R&D. BriefCam’s, technology enables hours of surveillance video to be viewed in minutes. On average, one hour of video can be viewed in just one minute. The technology is already used by law enforcement, police and other security authorities worldwide.
The five-year-old company is headquartered in Neve Ilan, and has offices in the US and China.
Second place went to Yokneam-based company Knock N’Lock, which was founded in 2007, and develops innovative robust locking units with an advanced management system that can be used to protect a wide range of locations, from cellular towers to ATMs, containers and delivery vans.
The Israel HLS 2012 exhibition was attended by an international audience of government ministers, mayors, police chiefs, heads of intelligence organizations and companies engaged in homeland security.
About 60 of Israel’s leading companies presented innovative homeland security solutions at the exhibition, including Herzliya startup Bioexplorers, which uses mice to detect contraband and explosives in purses, luggage and even cargo.
