The Library will offer professional infrastructure in addition to networking events and meet-ups for young technological visionaries. It’s part of the city’s recognition of Tel Aviv itself as a laid-back, organic business incubator.

“The city has come together to support the local tech community,” said Director of Economic Affairs Avner Warner. “There’s an amazing, amazing thing happening in Tel Aviv – a highly developed ecosystem of young entrepreneurs.”

One-third of Tel Aviv’s population of 400,000 is under the age of 35, he noted, and the city hosts about 600 startup companies.

“It’s a very creative city, and young, creative energy is what feeds the entrepreneurial community here.”

Put them together with experienced mentors and investors, and you might just have a recipe for success, said Warner, who went to Austin, Texas, in March to promote Tel Aviv at South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive, one of the largest emerging tech gatherings in the world.
