Sailors Gideon Kliger and Eran Sela had a great seventh race earlier today, coming in fifth and moving themselves into the Top 10 overall. But by the end of the eighth race the Israeli men’s 470 duo was back down in 11th and further away from the medal event set for August 9.

Kliger and Sela have two more races in the preliminary rounds and they need top finishes if they hope to qualify for the finals.

In the men’s RS:X it was too little too late for Shahar Zubari.

The Olympic windsurfer from Eilat came in first place in the 10th and final race in the qualification rounds but finished overall in a disappointing 19th place. Zubari will not compete in tomorrow’s medal race.

Turning to the pool and synchronized swimmers Anastasia Gloushkov and Inna Yoffe came 17th in the Qualification Technical Routine and 18th in the Qualification Free Routine. Gloushkov and Yoffe scored 166.920 points in total, 29.88 points behind the first-place Russian team, which put them 17th overall. They did not advance to the finals.
