Israel has announced its five-member Winter Olympics delegation for the Sochi Games next month. Solo figure skater Oleksii Bychenko, pair skaters Evgeny Krasnapolsky and Andrea Davidovich, speed skater Vladislav Bykanov and alpine skier Virgile Vandeput will aim for the podium in Russia.

In 2010, Israel sent a three-member delegation to the Vancouver Games.

The Olympic Committee of Israel expects the five athletes to place in the top 10 of their sports categories in Sochi.

Skeleton athlete Bradley Scott Chalupski — who represents Israel at world competitions — had hoped to represent Israel at the Games but missed the cut.

The Winter Olympics will take place Feb. 7- Feb. 23.
