Four stars of the Fox TV drama House arrived in Israel this week on a tour that combines sightseeing with visits to cutting-edge projects in Israeli hospitals and master class acting workshops. The actors, Lisa Edelstein, Amber Tamblyn, Omar Epps and Jesse Spencer were accompanied by the show’s creator and executive producer David Shore.

British comedian turned actor, Hugh Laurie, who plays the show’s central character and is the most highly paid TV actor in the US, did not take part in the visit that was sponsored by the Israel Ministry of Tourism, the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, America’s Voices for Israel (Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations) and EL AL Israel Airlines.

During their visit, the actors will visit the Galilee, the Dead Sea, Masada and Jerusalem, as well as the hospitals, Tel Hashomer and Sheba. On Monday and Tuesday, they took part in Israel’s Independence Day celebrations in Tel Aviv.

Amber Tamblyn, who plays Dr. Martha Masters in the popular TV show, said: “Walking around Jaffa and Tel Aviv on Independence Day and seeing how everyone was celebrating in full spirit was an unforgettable experience.”

Launched to critical acclaim in 2004, House is one of the most watched TV dramas in America, and is distributed to 66 countries around the world, including Israel. House has won numerous awards, including nine People’s Choice Awards, a Peabody Award, two Golden Globes and four Emmy Awards.
